SPECIAL EFFECTS MARKERS FOR LEXAN BODIES
Remember some of those wacky paint finishes from the 70’s?
I know I am old enough!
The big problem in re-creating these was not being able to find Permanent marker pens that reacted with hair lacquer the same way they did way back then!
However,  diligent racer and (obviously researcher) Chris Stemmen found just the type after destroying many bodies in the process of experimentation!
We now have the great pleasure to be able to supply these Permanent Markers at a very reasonable price and in a choice of Red, Blue or Black. @ £1.65 each
STILL DON’T HAVE THE FAINTEST IDEA WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT?
The technique is real simple.
Prepare the body the same way you would for paint (i.e. Make sure it’s clean)

Apply the Permanent marker on the inside to the area of the body you want to gain the effect on.

When the marker is dry, take your wife’s hair spray (or your own!) and Splatter the Marker surface (it is essential to economically “splatter or Spit” the hair spray to get the effect, as opposed to the total mess you will get if you just spray it on! So a bit of aerosol practice is called for before you start your first body! (just an ideal way of using that body you were given as a race prize and will NEVER race! - or try experiments on clear plastic clam packs etc.)

When everything is suitably splattered and dry, back off with a light colour acrylic paint to achieve the complete effect.

Try experimenting with different colour combinations and Have Fun!

Feel free to e-mail us your paint jobs and I will add them to the page!

Many thanks to Chris Stemmen for the pics thus far and the inspiration to start this madness all over again 30 years later!
Yes! That’s Right!
The numbers on the body are upside down! Don’t ask me why, They just are!
Maybe its a tribute to Sunset, the body manufacturer who
