D3 Can Am & F1 Body information
Dependent on which version of the D3 rules you race to, depends on what bodies are legal. Some rules stipulate “Repulls” from original 70’s moulds or copies therof and other rules allow for use of period bodies originally made at a later date. So Check the rules you race to, before ordering bodies!
We stock a variety of types suitable for both types of racing. Click the following links for bodies of your choice.
For the “repull” types of body there is
Truescale Racing, which are superbly detailed and moulded and also Outisight which have a number of repull can am shells. The Lancer range has some very interesting F1 cars, but Lancer is hard to obtain at this time and little stock is on hand at this time.
Falling between the two is Red Fox with a selection of modern mould Sports Cars and a “repull” Formula One body.
For modern recreations of Can Am, we have JK Products which produce a nice range of these Can Am and Sports cars.

The AB D3 F1 Kit is now available! Developed and precision cut in the UK this kit can be built to D3 rules or IRRA rules (by removing front suspension detail).
Cut from 1.5mm brass, the kit weighs in at approx 42 Grams and may be lightened if desired by removing material from the rear part of the front centre section. Standard kit builds total weight of 108 grams in D3 format.
Easy to build and dimensionally correct the kit comes complete with JK F1 Rear bracket and a 1mm thick spring steel guide plate @ £28.95 or as the Brass part only at £22.00.

The JK F1 main chassis section is formed from 1.2mm thick brass and has two alternative rear pin mount locations. The brass U bracket fits snugly in the rear section of the chassis. A great kit for just £29.95- Also available - F1 rear bracket only @ £4.75
